In this talk, Dr. Rob Wolton, will combine decades of research on the importance of hedges as a refuge for wildlife while sharing personal experiences from his farm in Devon. Much of the UK is intensively farmed, and in such landscapes, hedges are often the only refuge for wildlife. Besides providing shelter, protection, and food for animals, they also connect and unite patches of remaining habitat, playing crucial roles in soil conservation and flood prevention. In short, they are essential for nature's recovery.
