Rob's presentation was marvellous! A grand review of hedges of different types, why they are important for wildlife, and how to establish and maintain them. In order to assess the biodiversity of hedges, Rob had to become familiar with all the creatures that depend on them from hazel dormice, birds butterflies and moths, beetles and flies. He is now one of a very few UK's experts on flies, which are a very difficult group to study.
